The Policemen’s Civil Service Commission for the City of Princeton, WV has authorized the Princeton Police Department to begin accepting applications for the position of Patrolman. Application packets are available at the Princeton Municipal Building, 800 Bee Street, Princeton, WV, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or by calling (304) 487-5093. Completed applications must be returned to the Municipal Building. After satisfying Civil Service requirements, certified officers will receive a combination $10,000 sign on/retention bonus at hiring.

The Physical Ability Test for the position of Patrolman with the City of Princeton, WV will be conducted under the auspices of the Policemen’s Civil Service Commission on Saturday, March 8th, 2025, at 9:00 A.M., at the Princeton Soccer Field, Ingleside Road and Tiger Drive, Princeton, WV. (From US Rt. 460, take Ingleside Road to Tiger Drive and take first left just past King’s Tire). You must report promptly or you will not be permitted to test.

Applicants who pass the Physical Ability Test will be eligible to take the written examination that is scheduled for the same day at 1:00 p.m. at the Princeton Municipal Building, 800 Bee Street, Princeton, WV (From Ingleside Road turn right at the first light onto Stafford Drive and proceed to the next light. Turn right onto Bee Street and continue past the shopping center and turn right at the gate to City Hall).

*****You MUST bring the COMPLETED form, “DOCTOR’S CERTIFICATION OF FITNESS TO PERFORM ABILITY TESTS,” obtained at applicant’s expense, with you on the scheduled test date. You cannot take the Physical Ability Test without the completed form! Dress appropriately for physical activity and do not wear loose fitting clothing during the push up portion of the test.

*****You MUST bring some form of PHOTO IDENTIFICATION to the both testing locations (Drivers License, Military ID or College Identification).
