Mission Statement

The mission of the Princeton Police Department is to protect life and safeguard property in the City of Princeton.

Purpose & Function

Princeton City Police Department serves to protect the citizens of Princeton, WV.

Department Services

The department maintains active roles in Child Protect, Mercer County’s Special Response Team, the Southern Regional Drug & Violent Crime Task Force, and the West Virginia Coalfields Highway Safety Program. Also, we partner with K-12 and higher education institutions, such as Concord University and Bluefield State University.

Princeton Police maintains a mutual aid agreement with Mercer County to provide police response to incidents that may occur within a reasonable distance from the City’s jurisdiction.

The Princeton Police Department operates an anonymous tip line made available to the people of Princeton. Use the tip line to report criminal or suspicious behavior to the Police Department.
